Overview of Snowplow

Snowplow collects, enriches, and validates customer behavioral data in real-time. Unlike black-box SaaS analytics that sample data, Snowplow provides complete data ownership with raw event access, strong JSON Schema enforcement (Iglu), and custom enrichment pipelines.

Snowplow Architecture

  1. Trackers: SDKs in JS, iOS, Android, Python, and Node.js.
  2. Collector: High-throughput HTTP receiver streaming to Kafka or AWS Kinesis.
  3. Enrich: Real-time schema validation and geo-lookup.
  4. Storage: Automated loading into Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or S3.
